IMPHAL, Feb 8: The Tripura Students’ Federation (TSF) has sought support of the people of the North East region to Sourabhee Debbarma who is taking part in the Indian Idol contest being sponsored by Sony Entertainment Television.Speaking to media persons at Hotel Tampha here today, TSF president Upendra Dev Barma accused people of mainland India of not recognising the talents of the youths of the region. Recalling that Tripura and Manipur had close relations since the time of monarchy, he said that the people of North East region should promote talents of the youths.Saying that the success of Sourabhee Debbarma in the Indian Idol contest lies on the votes given in support of him, Upendra sought votes in support of Sourabhee. While competi-tions for Indian Idol are held every Friday, weekly results are declared every Satur-day, he said while appealing to the people to give votes in favour of Sourabhee by sending SMS “Sourabhee” to 52525.
